Testo 883 Thermal Imager - Engineer behind a thermal camera display showing temperature patterns
Primary Equipment

Testo 883 Thermal Imager

SD LeakDoc's stated primary thermal imaging equipment is the Testo 883 thermal imager. It supports infrared inspection by displaying temperature patterns across surfaces and equipment. These patterns can help an experienced inspector identify areas requiring further investigation.

  • Building and moisture diagnostics
  • Suspected water intrusion
  • Thermal irregularities
  • Insulation-related investigations
  • Suitable electrical and industrial inspections
testo IRSoft Analysis Software - Preparing a technical inspection report
Analysis Software

testo IRSoft Analysis Software

Professional thermal image analysis and reporting using testo IRSoft software, where applicable to the equipment and workflow. Thermal images can be analysed, annotated and compiled into structured reports.

  • Thermal image analysis
  • Temperature point and area evaluation
  • Report preparation with images
Moisture Measuring Instruments - Engineer inspecting a wall for dampness and moisture intrusion
Moisture Measurement

Moisture Measuring Instruments

Moisture measurement instruments support the investigation of dampness and suspected moisture intrusion in building materials, helping verify what thermal patterns suggest.

  • Damp wall and ceiling checks
  • Comparison with reference areas
  • Moisture mapping across surfaces
Connected Measurement Instruments - Technician using precision measuring equipment
Connected Instruments

Connected Measurement Instruments

Compatible instruments, such as testo 770-3 clamp meters and testo 605i thermohygrometers, may support combined electrical or environmental measurements when available and appropriate to the inspection.

  • Electrical measurements alongside thermography
  • Temperature and humidity readings
  • Environmental context for findings
Non-Destructive Testing - Building inspector documenting site observations during an inspection
Methodology

Non-Destructive Testing

Inspection techniques are selected to investigate suspected defects while minimizing unnecessary damage. Not every leak can be located conclusively without additional testing or limited opening-up work.

  • Minimal disruption to occupants
  • Evidence-based narrowing of the source
  • Limited opening only where required
Know the Limits

Thermal Imaging Sees Temperature, Not Water

Thermal imaging identifies temperature patterns, not water itself. A cooler patch on a wall may be moisture - or it may be a shadow, an air draft or a different material.

That is why our findings are always verified with moisture readings, site observations and engineering judgement before recommendations are made.
